The iRobot Roomba 980, the latest in a series of top-of-the-line robot vacuums, is a must for every modern home. This model has seriously strong suction and it comes with a HEPA filter that will assist anyone suffering from allergies. Additionally it also has a strong battery which can clean for up to two hours and it will return to its dock when it is full.
It also has an option called smart mapping that uses multiple sensors to help suss out the areas of your home that need attention and create a cleaning path around them. We've seen this technology in action and it does a good job of moving around toys abandoned on the floor or furniture legs that stick out from under things. It also has a camera that will snap the Roomba back to its original position when it starts drifting from its intended location.

Despite these minor shortcomings, the Roomba 980 remains one of our most efficient robots, and it's not even close to being as expensive as the other top-of-the-line models on this list. It has many of the features you'd expect from a top model, but doesn't come with all the fancy apps or smart home integration that you'll find in other top models.
The iRobot Roomba can be set up quickly and is ready for use as soon as you are ready to. After taking off the yellow bin insert and battery pull tab from the undercarriage, you simply plug it into a wall socket or its Home Base docking stations, click the "Clean button" and let it job. It will return to docking station when it runs out of battery or is full of sand. There are also indicators on top that show when its bin is empty, when it is in need of recharging or when it loses its Wi-Fi.
